    Looking for an opportunity to work with state of the art technologies with a team of Engineers who are innovative and highly respected?  Want to be recognised for your outstanding engineering abilities?  Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS) is a global leader in the development and manufacturing of precision positioning equipment and due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer who is passionate about embedded/electronics software engineering and who is able to apply strong electronics design skills; circuit design, schematics and PCB layout design skills in this role.


    • Design electronics schematics and PCB layout.
    • Liaise with sub-contractors for design and delivery of prototypes and tooling.
    • Develop low level drivers in C within embedded RTOS environment
    • Program and maintain CPLDs and FPGAs in VHDL.
    • Manage external manufactures to source components and assemble engineering prototype hardware.
    • Represent engineering with Production, Project Management, and NPI to release products.
    • Provide engineering management, budgeting and scheduling to achieve first customer shipments.
    • Lend engineering assistance to the regulatory team to pass FCC, CE, A-tick and other certifications as required.
    • Fix existing designs and support ECRs and ECOs through to release.
    • Write, modify and debug software for embedded and computer applications in the following languages (C, C++, ARM assembler).
    • May perform other duties as assigned.



    • Strong electronics design skills including schematics and PCB layout.
    • Experience with debugging prototype PCB's and 4+ layer PCB design.
    • Embedded systems and high speed communication protocol.
    • Practical experience with document workflow (Generation of Schematics, PCB CAD and gerber files, BOMs).
    • Demonstrable electronic workshop skills (soldering, prototyping, rework etc).
    • Experience with C.
    • Experience with circuit stimulation tools and PCB design and layout for EMC, immunity, vibration and environmental impacts advantageous.
    • RF circuit design experience and C++ desirable.
    • Experience with embedded RTOS desirable.
    • Schematic design and layout.
    • High level of VHDL knowledge for CPLD design, both synthesis and test bench code.
