    • Overview

    Oversee issues related to foreign trade for domestic manufacturers who import and export goods. Position creates and implements internal policies that ensure company-wide compliance with U.S. and international customs regulations, shipping requirements, and trade laws.

     

    Responsibilities


     
    • Supports the product classification process to ensure HTS/Schedule B assignment and communication of this information to appropriate business personnel
    • • Interface with Engineering and Program Managers to understand technical characteristics and how that impacts export classifications and US and local government licensing on Topcon products/technology
    • • Work with external partners and overseas contract manufacturers to provide advice and guidance on day-to-day import and export transactions.
    • • Assist Trade Compliance in administering an effective import and export compliance program to ensure company compliance with regulatory and internal policy requirements
    • • Assist in internal export compliance audits, risk assessments, and process improvement plans
    • • Manage and implement the integration of trade requirements into relevant business processes. 
    • • Assist with the design and delivery of trade compliance training for various internal audiences. 
    • • Other related duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications


     

    • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Import and Export Compliance.
    • Bachelor’s degree international trade, business administration or equivalent work experience.
    • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Solid knowledge of US Customs, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification and Schedule B Classification
    • US export control regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
    • Strong data analysis and problem solving skills
    • Intermediate/advance knowledge of Excel and ERP (SAP) would be a plus
    • Solid knowledge import and export documentation data elements requirements for international transactions
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written
