  • Overview

    Topcon Agriculture, a division of the Topcon Positioning Group, provides advanced IoT connected field and farm management solutions for aftermarket and OEM customers in the agriculture industry, integrating high-precision hardware, software, and data to bring efficiency and enhance productivity to every phase of the farming operations.

     

    Provides technical support to the manufacturing team during the design of manufacturing processes for a production facility. Assists in the development of layouts or floor plans, conducts tests and troubleshoots equipment. Documents test procedures and results. Solves routine technical problems.

    Responsibilities

    • Recommend revisions to methods of operation, material handling, equipment layout, or other changes to increase production throughput or improve standards
    • Evaluate, specify, and recommend tooling and equipment as required to improve productivity and product quality.
    • Support NPI/engineering by designing, testing, and implementing tooling as required to support manufacturing
    • Support the testing, programming, and implementation of new production/capital equipment
    • Evaluate and perform reliability testing of alternate manufacturing processes
    • Develop and document manufacturing methods, practices, procedures, and standards that will help sustain manufacturing efficiency and maintain process control.
    • Support lean manufacturing initiatives/kaizen events.
    • Support Industry 4.0 (IoT) initiatives
    • Provide support to QA team as required
    • Provide routine technical support to production team
    • Perform other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
    • 1-2 years of relevant experience in Manufacturing Engineering/Industrial Engineering through an internship/co-op helpful.

     

    Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

     

    • Experience with Solidworks or similar CAD system a plus
    • Strong communication skills; must have an ability to prepare test reports and other technical documents
    • Must possess strong analytical skills
    • Able to work independently without close supervision.
    • Experience within an ISO9001 environment
    • Willingness to take a ‘hands-on’ approach to supporting manufacturing
