    Determines material requirements from engineering and production schedules and maintains inventory at planned levels. Plans, schedules, and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle. Additionally, the Buyer/Planner is responsible for thoroughly understanding and improving the commodities they support.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors
    • Generate, issue, and manage purchase orders for production materials and outside-processing services based on MRP recommendations
    • Obtain quotes and work on cost reduction initiatives
    • Expedite and monitor required parts or processes to support production schedules
    • Assist with the coordination and implementation of engineering and material changes
    • Resolve receiving, invoicing, PPV issues
    • Facilitate resolution of quality issues & MRB disposition
    • Explore alternate sources for goods and materials
    • Maintain forecast in ERP (Great Plains)
    • Create production build plan
    • Ad Hoc Reporting as needed
    • Update standard costs as required
    • Manage quoting process for new parts as well as revision changed on existing parts

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    • Minimum 5 years of experience working in an operations team
    • High school degree required
    • Some college prefered
    • CPSM and/or APICs certification preferred

    Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

    • Microsoft Office expertise, especially Excel and Access
    • Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains experience a plus
    • Experience with PLM system. Rite Pro Prefered
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Knowledge of ISO 13485 (medical devices) would be a plus
